Why we started
Most editors cut for how a timeline looks. We started Apex Scalea to cut for how long someone keeps watching.
Too much of this industry treats editing as a style exercise: a nice cut, a clean transition, without asking whether it actually holds attention. We saw a real gap in editing quality for creators: production and packaging treated as separate jobs, when they're really one system. So that's what we built the studio around.
Pacing, hooks and structure built around retention, not just style, is still the whole thesis. We're not the biggest studio in this space, and we're not trying to be. We'd rather stay small and senior, and good at the one thing that moves the number that actually matters: watch time.
